Entering Invitational Tournaments

Some invitationals will be requiring Team I.D. Cards that are issued at the time of ASA Registration.Teams that cannot show proof of registration will be charged an ASA team registration fee before they are eligible to play.

Register your team through your ASA District Commissioner and obtain a signed copy of your roster.

Enter any invitational tournament of your class or higher. Contact the Tournament Director for details.

Don't wait until the last few weeks to enter a tournament. They may be full or cancelled due to lack of response.

Always follow up to confirm your acceptance and request a receipt of your team's entry fee and roster.

Some tournaments begin on Friday evenings - always ask.

Make sure that your bank will honor your check. For teams with NSF checks that are returned, that team and all team members will be declared ineligible for any future ASA tournaments or programs. Legal action may also be taken.

General Information:

Team ID - Each team that registers with the Idaho ASA will receive a Team ID card to verify ASA registration for that year of play.

Player Identification - Players shall provide proof of identification (which shall include a current photograph or player and the player's signature) when requested by a league or tournament official. Until proper identification is produced, the player is declared ineligible.

Glossary of Common Terms:

Travel Permits - Travel permits are not required for ADULT teams that travel throughout the state of Idaho. When any team travels outside the state of Idaho, they are required to obtain an ASA team membership card.

Team Rosters - Team rosters shall be signed by your local ASA District Commissioner prior to participating in any Invitational, Qualifer or Championship tournament.

Invitationals -Open to all ASA registered and classifed teams. See contact person listed on District Commissioners webpage.

Qualifiers - State/National - Teams win berths to the National Championship Finals

State Championships - These Championship Tournaments are open to all ASA teams registered in the state of Idaho on a first received team roster and entry fee to the hosting Tournament Director.

Northwest Regionals-No Regional Championships will be held in the Women's Slowpitch B. Contact your State Commissioner for direct berths to these National Championship Tournaments.

Reading the Tournament Listings / Classes - When listed as (B), the tournament is offering a game designed for B teams. When combined by a slash (D/Rec), the tournament is offering a bracket where both classes compete together.

Formats - SE is single elimination; DE is double elimination; RR is round robin; 3GG is a 3 game guarantee; $$ is prize money.
